AEEFAS Anlaby and East Ella Flood Alleviation Scheme – a scheme worth £2 million, the works involved the excavation of a 130,000m3 surface water retention lagoon in Hull. With the lagoon categorised as a reservoir, the design and construction was subject to the review and approval of a client-appointed Reservoir Panel Engineer. All elements were built to a strict specification and assurance regime. Embankments were constructed using site-won cohesive clay material, forming a natural lagoon liner. We were chosen for this scheme because of our extensive experience in delivering previous flood alleviation schemes in the Hull and surrounding areas.
